Liu Decheng

Associate Professor

Introduction

Liu Decheng is an Associate Research Fellow at the International Centre on Space Technologies for Natural and Cultural Heritage under the auspices of UNESCO (HIST). His research focuses on environmental archaeology. He holds a B.S. degree in Mineral Resources Exploration from Xi’an Institute of Geology(now Chang’an University), obtained in 1999. He received his Ph.D. in Physical Geography and Environmental Change from Peking University in 2008.

He has carried out multiple research projects, including archaeological and environmental studies in Shanxi, Ningxia, and Hainan, and has participated in major national initiatives such as the National Social Science Foundation’s key project on the comprehensive study of transitional remains from the Paleolithic to Neolithic periods in the middle reaches of the Yellow River.
