Huang Peng serves as the Research Fellow at the International Centre on Space Technologies for Natural and Cultural Heritage under the auspices of UNESCO (HIST) and a Senior Engineer (Professorate Level) at the Aerospace Information Research Institute (AIR) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. He has long been responsible for the engineering construction and operational management of the China Remote Sensing Satellite Ground Station, a major national science and technology infrastructure. He has successively led and undertaken over ten major engineering construction projects, including the High-resolution Earth Observation System Major Special Project, the Chinese Academy of Sciences Strategic Priority Program on Space Science, and the National Civil Space Infrastructure (Phase I and Phase II) Land Observation Satellite Ground System Construction Projects. The systems he has built support all of China's land observation and space science satellite missions, achieving domestically leading and internationally advanced levels. He holds 15 national invention patents, has published 15 academic papers, and, as the first accomplisher, received the Second Prize of the 2020 Beijing Science and Technology Progress Award.
