Atlas of SDGSAT-1 Satellite Nighttime Light Image

Abstract: This atlas presents 10 m-resolution colour nighttime-light imagery acquired by the Glimmer Imager aboard SDGSAT-1. It includes images of 154 cities across Asia, Africa, Europe, the Americas and Oceania, showcasing the vitality of cities at night, patterns of human settlement and economic development, and the distinctive characteristics of cities shaped by different regions, customs and cultural contexts. Combining scientific and practical value with visual appeal, the atlas offers readers a unique perspective on the world through the “eyes” of SDGSAT-1. It can serve as a reference for researchers in remote-sensing satellite technology and sustainable development science, as well as for readers interested in Earth sciences and social sciences.
